Contacts Application FAQs

Frequently asked questions for using the Contacts application.

Sharing Folders

Sharing Folders

How can I add others to a folder?

One of the ways to do this is through the Contacts application. Click the tab labeled Contacts and you can add other users as an Owner, Editor or Reader. To do this, first click the appropriate filter (Owners, Editors, Readers), followed by clicking the Create button.

Who is allowed to add other users to a folder?

Only the owner of the folder, by default the person the created the folder. That said, the owner of the folder can also change the owner to another person the folder is shared with.

When I share a folder with someone, do I also have to share the application content?

Not at all, once you share the folder everything is all set, any content within that folder will also be shared with them.

Is there a fast way to share folders and sub-folders with a new user?

You can do this by adding them to an initial folder and checking the "Add to Sub-Folders" option. This will add the same permissions of the current folder you're adding them to (Owner, Editor or Reader) to all the relevant sub-folders.

Reference Information

Who will see my contact information?

The only people that will see any contact information you've added are others within the same folder. This allows you to set up different folders for different users, keeping focus within their own group or project. Having the contact information available within the folder helps for others to quickly get in touch for any further collaboration or discussions.

What contact reference information is available to modify in my user profile?

The contact information that you can make available includes your phone, location and role or occupation. As you're working in a private network, this can be helpful for occasional reference for others when needed.

What content is displayed when others view my Contact profile?

The only content that is displayed is that which you've shared with them, helping to give a quick overview of collaboration that's been shared.
